Reading Time

My whole life I have loved books, my heart hurt when I had to get rid of my collection years ago because  I had no space to spare. Slowly I have been growing it again, and now adding to my little ones collection. I cant wait for them to love reading on their own. I love having them fall in love with characters and looking for them in the library. I have on occasion read the same book over and over.

My time for reading has of course gone down a bit. I have found to enjoy audiobooks and electronic books as I go about my day. I'm usually a love a book smell and feel type of girl. With these kids I have learned to read where I can and when I can.

Books will forever be a part of our lives. Taking us on Grand Adventures and opening our eyes to so much.

Unwind by Neil Shusterman

Book: Unwind
Author: Neil Shusterman
Series: Unwind Dystology
Genre: YA/SciFi/Dystopian

Well if there was ever a book that made me feel uneasy it was this one. It had action, romance, and a future world that could be seen as a possibility. Pro Life and Pro Choice...well of course the solution is raising the kids and if they basically suck just "unwind" them. Keep them alive but by giving away their body parts to others. Helps those needing organ transplants, people that had accidents, everyone wins right?! This touched on those topics and is through the eyes of multiple characters in the book. It turned into a read in a day (or in the spare time with 3 little ones) books. I cant wait to start the other books in the series.

Mommyhood and the no time monster

Well here I go again. I think I have had this blog for at least ten years and have content that sums up to  1 or 2 years total 🤣🤣🤣.

I have so much I want to share, my life with three little ones, our new adventure into kindergarten, my new insta pot, my planner obsession, my new diy reupholstered furniture phase, my never ending laundry, and the list can go on.

I will for sure get back into the swing of not just reviewing books but also making sure to write about life in general.

Why am I up at 4:55 and deciding to just blog about it now?

All the pieces matter

This book is a  must read for fans of The Wire. It gives a deeper look into the background relationships, decisions, and things that made the show work so well. Once you start it takes you back to one of the best shows made. I enjoyed this read tremendously.

Book Review : Be the Hands and Feet

Title: Be the hands and feet: Living out god's love for all his children.
Author: Nick Vujicic

What an inspirational read. Sometimes it takes someone else's struggles to see what you have been blessed with.

Many people feel that it is hard to speak about their religious beliefs with others. This book shows how it is hard for everyone at first. Even someone like Nick started out not wanting to do so but it was his calling and he grew into the role of being a motivational speaker to others.

We all need a read like this sometimes. Very good!

English Tea

I have become obsessed with tea and creamer. I saw tea and cream on some show I was watching and I love it. Should I relax with these shows. Well yes of course. Laundry goes quicker when I am entertained. I have been doing a ton of cleaning as well. The toy room, the closets, everything.

The Book of Joe

This is a beautifully written book that speaks about former Vice President Joe Biden. From telling of his life as a child to the day he became vice president. This book gives incite to different areas of his life as well is wisdom that has come from him.

If you want to learn more about Joe Biden, and learn more about this great man, read this book. Great read.

Netflix Dark

Today I finally got the girls clothes in order, somewhat. I have a large lawn bag full of giveaway just from their dresser and clean laundry. I still have more in the garage and other places.

While doing all the folding I began to watch the new Netflix show Dark. Not only watch it BINGED IT. I told myself to stop but I couldnt. The concept of it is so wild that I need season 2 now.

New Year New Posts

Happy 2018!

This past year was full of ups and downs for our family but we can not complain. We have a roof over heads, our bellies are full, our children are healthy, our health is ehhh but can get better. We will see what 2018 brings for us. For sure this will be the year I dedicate more time to my interests. With 3 under 4 its a hard time for me time but if I try I can do it.

Health wise I really need to work on myself. Diabetes is now an everyday thing. Weight loss will be key for me to get on track with my health.

How We Love

This book talks alot about how you develop your way to love at a young age. Are you used to tough love? Love that is easy, love that is hard. This book will help you learn what your love style is, why you love how you do. If you feel like some things are hard this will open the door to find out why. Use it to not just help your marriage but all your relationships.

Time

Time is something that I know we all wish we had more of.

As I hear my four year old sing her lullaby that I have sung to her since birth; it blows my mind how fast time with her has gone. Next year she will be leaving me; onto kindergarten. My baby is growing and I can not believe it. I feel like I was just bawling my eyes out in the hospital room, scared to take her home, wanting to stay there forever safe and sound. Now every day she surprises me. She has learned a lot from us. It is crazy. Shes a wonderful big sister, a wonderful daughter, and a great friend. I love my buddy.

Next year I will not be with her all day like I am blessed to be now. I know it is a normal feeling of anxiety that many mothers feel. I feel that because of her food allergies, and her eczema it is just a little tougher for me. Will she remember the rules about not eating food that others offer her, dont use soap when washing your hands because it will irritate your skin. Do not worry if you get itchy or people ask about why you are a little extra red today. What am I to do?! I want to be a fly on the wall all day and everyday; along with her little sisters. Is there a way we can all be in class together, forever. I hope an pray she will be OK. That her teacher understands my anxiety, her anxiety, that she lets her dance a little whenever she wants. I know asking for so much on my part; just trying to prepare myself almost a year to go but feel like it will be here before I am ready.

Arena

If you are into dystopian society type of novels this is a great one to get your hands on this book.
The future belongs to video gamer. Not athletes, not scholars, but programmers, and game developers, and in a new form game players.

Kali goes through so much to become the leader of her virtual reality team. When they die they feel it, when they win they feel it. Is it too much for some of those around her? She has to stand strong and prove her worth.

Foundations of Drawing

This book was for my brother whom is an artist. He not only enjoyed the book and the information that was held within it had so many beautiful examples of the techniques they spoke about. There are very interesting things to read about even if you are not an artist. I enjoyed seeing the different techniques like shadowing, and all the art pieces the book contained.

Here and Gone

Here and Gone
By: Haylen Beck

Here and Gone is an edge of your seat novel. You meet Audra and her children; whom she is trying to protect from her abusive ex.  She is in a remote area when all our lonely rode fears come to life. After being taken to the police station and asking about her children the officer responds to her by saying "What Children?". Nope no and NOPE. That was the most chilling words that any mother could hear.

From there the story is just a roller coaster of emotions for me. I sat and read it in one sitting and afterwards was left just feeling emotional.

Highly Recommended.

The Polygamist's Daughter

The Polygamist's Daughter was a very interesting read.

The story revolved around one of
Ervil LeBaron's children. It told the story of how she grew up. What people never saw; and how someone could control others to the point of murder.

The story shows how a child is sometimes raised around things that are harmful but in their eyes it is normal; until they become adults. Or until their eyes are opened to things that are different then what they are used to.

NKJV, KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE

NKJV, KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE

I was able to download this study bible to my desktop. The great thing about it is that it allows you to easily search and scroll through the app you are using, book by book.

It gives you a summary of what you are about to read as well as tips on how to study the said book you are looking at. The other great thing if you get the E Book version is that you can adjust the size of the texts to make it easier for those who need it.

Great Study Bible and Recommended for Students.

Read & Play Baby Bible

This was a fun little book to read. I liked the fact that it had short quick sentences on each other page. One side had the story the other held the instructions for parents to make it interactive. The illustrations in the book were extremely cute. My kids enjoyed it.

Batgirl at Superhero High

My daughter and i enjoyed listening to this story. It was a fun way for her to use her imagination. New for her since she was not used to audio books, but entertaining nontheless. The story is a fun action packed super girls storyline. If you know some of the original superheroes the teenage versions are super cute to hear about.

God Made You Nose to Toes

God made you nose to toes written by Leslie Parrott.

This is a beautiful children's book. A great way to introduce the idea of God to little ones. My three year old loved the rhymes and the artwork. She kept asking did God make this...all around the house. Great book for little ones and enjoyable to read. My one year old was excited because she would point at her own ears, and body as we read along.
